Rocket blasting off Galileo satellite navigation satellite
August 22, 2014 at 14:09 clock Updated BST
A Soyuz rocket will form with two satellites that are part of a new European satellite navigation system blasted off from French Guiana.
Galileo promises high accuracy in a position where we are or objects on the planet and could have a big impact on the way we live our lives, says the European Commission funded the new system.
So far, we have the American GPS (Global Positioning System), which has an accuracy of a few meters. Galileo has the potential to provide an accuracy of less than one meter.
Review of the European Space Agency.
