Puffin face of time and the human threat, says National Trust

A study by the National Trust proposes seabirds on the coast of the UK are affected by a "Triple Threat" of extreme weather conditions, predators such as foxes, rats and non-native mink, human disturbance and walkers and their dogs.

Gwen Potter, National Trust Ranger in Ceredigion, West Wales, said today the program that the colonies of birds, including terns and puffins have particular through the recent storms and affected "to relax dogs."

"You should be aware that during the breeding season, nest ... it could cause problems with the animals that live there," he added.
