Spring rain fed mortal plant

A carnivorous pitcher plant uses raindrops for energy to throw ants their fate, the researchers found.
Biologists at the University of Bristol have discovered that rain helps the plant ants "movie" in the glass case where they drown and be consumed by the plant.
The team used high-speed cameras to capture the movement, showing this short clip.
The results are published in PNAS.
