Air pollution - the "invisible threat" air on our roads

The revelation that Volkswagen has the software used in some of their vehicles in order to deceive emission tests led the European Commission to pressure automakers to accept deeper cuts in emissions from diesel vehicles.
Government figures show, particulate pollution generally, contributing to 29,000 deaths annually in the UK.
Nitrogen dioxide, a gas that is in the diesel exhaust gases is connected to 23,500 deaths per year.
