Archimedes screws Giant Whalley Hydro Project

A giant Archimedes screw was used as part of a community project in Lancashire, energy left to produce.
Whalley Community Hydro Limited built a water mill on the stream Whalley Weir on the River Calder.
The group behind the system, the turbine when they finished generate around £ 90,000 of electricity per year.
