Animals with larger brains, such as elephants, horses, killer whales and some primates have platonic friendships, according to New Scientist.

The friendships that are not sexually be formed of animals in the barn, community groups.

Cale wildlife filmmaker Adrian said that friendships helped group animals were stressful life.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast : "If you are a person of lower rank, you will be hard, so that defensive alliances ... to form coalitions with other animals.".
