Many people in the list of New Year Honours are familiar faces, but most of them are called more accustomed to live out of the limelight.
Barbara Roberts, founder of Withington Hedgehog Trust, received a medal of the British Empire in recognition of his work.
She brought one of the many animals that meet the team at BBC Breakfast stored.
