December 20, 2014 at 3:41 GMT Last Updated

Millions of monarch butterflies came to the forests of Mexico as part of their annual migration from Canada and the United States.

Environmentalists hope that there will be an increase in the number of butterflies this year after a dramatic decline in recent years.

Mexico, USA and Canada have made efforts to increase the number of butterflies, including the development of organic fertilizer, which has spread through the fir forests of Mexico to protect monarch.
