According to a new study, almost half of the containers used in large UK supermarkets can not easily be recycled.
Foods are packed so they last longer. However, one group of consumers stated that many of these foods are unusable, that more durable materials should be used and that label recycling should be easier.
What you checked the most popular items that were bought every week in British supermarkets (bread, bacon, lettuce) and after checking the packaging of these items found that only 52% could be put in recycling bins.
The UK retail consortium, which represents supermarkets, claims that its members work tirelessly to make all packaging reusable, recyclable or compostable.
