What electrical plan was first to cross the Channel?

For the first time an electric aircraft successfully flew over the canal.
However, there is debate about which driver had that done first.
Didier Estyene pilot flew his plane E fan, powered by lithium batteries, Kent to Calais.
But another French pilot Hugues Duval, may have broken the record.
