Leap Second: What does this mean?

Midnight GMT is the first time in three years later tonight, an extra second is added to set the official time of atomic clocks.
The "leap second" the last minute in June will take in 61 seconds.
The latter occurred in 2012 and caused temporary problems in certain sites.
