James Lovelock is 94 years behind the scientific Gaia hypothesis, which states that the Earth is a self-regulating, single organism.
His theory has developed over 35 years and now Rough Ride will be published in the future.
Nick Higham BBC spoke to him about what he thinks the future holds.
