Chile declared disaster areas affected by the earthquake

Chile declared three northern regions of an earthquake of magnitude 8.2 hit his in disaster areas.

At least five people are known to have died and tens of thousands of people were evacuated.

The earthquake occurred at 20:46 local time clock (clock 23.46 CET) 86 km (52 miles) northwest of the mining area of Iquique, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
