Is salmon farming a problem?

David Ainsley runs a travel agency that takes tourists by boat to discover the west coast of Scotland.

He is also a marine biologist and a diver. For eight years he has been filming the seabed next to a fish farm on Shuna Lake.

Activists like him say that salmon farm foods, faeces and chemicals fall through the nets and kill marine life.

The industry claims to focus on sustainability. The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (Sepa) is implementing stricter regulations.

Panorama: Salmon Farming Exposed will air on BBC1 and BBC iPlayer at 8:30 pm on Monday, May 20th.
