How to reduce your carbon footprint while traveling

Never before has air travel been so popular with four billion passengers a year.

However, aviation emissions are contributing to climate change, and scientists say we need to do more to tackle this problem.

The BBC survey found that only a small proportion of passengers traveling with the world's largest airlines want to offset their carbon footprint.

CO2 equalization systems require additional compensation to contribute to environmental projects that reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere, although some say it is just an excuse to continue pollution.

However, this is not the only way to reduce the impact of your flight on the planet.

BBC environmental reporter Laura Foster explains some of the measures she can take to reduce the CO2 emissions of her flight.
