Observers for a dazzling show that the annual Perseid meteor shower reached on Wednesday.

For the first time since 2007, the shower will coincide with a new moon - which makes them particularly favorable visibility, weather permitting.

BBC Breakfast-speaking physicist Dr. Martin Archer for advice about the best way to see the show.
