Fracking advocates say the future of the energy industry in the UK, as greater access to natural gas and oil than ever could.
But it is controversial and was critically, it causes disruption, damage the campaign and increases the risk of water pollution say led to protests.
These are questions discussed at the World Conference Board in the United Kingdom.
Graham Satchell explains why such a contentious issue.
