The first houses of straw offered on the open market in the UK on sale this month.

And when the walls of straw could be easily associated with a history of questionable pork building possibilities, say the team behind these homes, the material could meet the demand for housing to help.

The houses are the result of a research project engineering from the University of Bath conducted.

The researchers worked with a studio specialized architecture.

Architect Craig White showed BBC science and environment journalist Victoria Gill building straw bale walls in a new home.
