NASA launches satellite to monitor soil moisture

NASA launched a satellite of Earth observation, which is to measure the amount of moisture in the soil.

The Delta 2 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California.

NASA hopes that the data obtained from the three-year mission will help scientists monitor to improve drought and flood forecasts.

The instruments of SMAP (SMAP) Observatory will be within 11 days after publication.
