US researchers say they have the first evidence found that Zika virus causes birth defects in infants.
The mosquito-borne virus - which spreads rapidly in Central and South America - usually causes only mild symptoms in adults. However, there is growing concern that when pregnant women are infected, babies can be born with damaged brains.
