SpaceX spacecraft: What happened at the launch of Elon Musk's rocket?

SpaceX's planned launch with its Starship, the most powerful space rocket ever built, was a success.

But if you watched, you might have been confused as to what happened. There was cheering and applause for the successful start... but there was also an explosion.
