Forty-two small tracking devices cuckoos is installed in the UK, the mystery of the birds may have solved back.
Britain has lost in the last 25 years more than 70% of its cuckoos.
A study tracking their migration has now shown that the birds have two migration routes - and is less risky than the other.
The results are published in the journal Nature Communications .
